  • Introduction to subatomic physics: relativistic kinematics, type of reactions, decay, cross-sections.
  • Fundamental physics of remote sensing: radiation emission (Planck's law); intrinsic properties of matter (complex refractive index, dielectric constant, atomic and molecular spectroscoscopy); scattering (Rayleigh, Mie, non-selective); radiative transfer equation.
